WING CHUN

Wing Chun is a traditional Chinese Martial Art steeped in tradition and history.

It was made famous to the western world by the late great Sigun Bruce Lee who burst onto the Hollywood movie scene in the 1970s.

Bruce Lee who invented JKD was a wing chun student of the now legendary Yip Man. In recent times Yip Man has risen in notoriety largely thanks to a series of Hong Kong movies starring Donny Yen who plays the late grandmaster Yip Man.

Wing Chun ( often translated as “eternal springtime” ) originated from Shaolin Kung Fu and is largely based on the snake and crane animal systems.

It is a southern Chinese martial art from Foshan in China and our heritage at 108 is second to none tracing back to Gulau village and the great master Leung Jaan through Leung Bik Chan Wah Sun Yip Man via Lee Shing and Ju Wan to Sifu Joseph Lee and Sifu Francis Fong to Sifu Paul Finn.

This legacy is as pure as it gets and as they say in Chinese the water flows pure closer to the spring. We like to say traditional Kung Fu for the modern day ( tradition being tried and tested ).
